Our water-to-air intercooling setup is a Genuine bolt-on kit that sets the standard for Pro R turbo kits and includes premium tuning, clutch and all required parts to properly add boost to your Pro R.
Power gains absolutely amazing! Seriously...even with gas at the pump, these vehicles are stupid fast. Upgrade to race fuel or E85 and they are on another level...simply stunning.
This kit uses the stock intake and air filter. This system works well to keep dirt, debris or water out of the systemadmission system. Other kits may use clip-on filters, which we do not suggest as they will be more likely to ingest dirt. We highly suggest our AA High Flow Pro R Air Filter with outerwear.
Our stainless steel manifold has longer tubes than a cast iron manifold. This helps carry heat away from the cylinders so we can operate safely at higher thrust without knocking. Our head tube is designed to deliver as even flow as possible and features an extremely robust mounting system for the turbo.
The turbocharger: This kit uses a larger turbo with less backlash. pressure, which is essential to reduce the engine. knock on this high-compression, high-revving engine. There is also a need to create higher power levels. As it is a high compression engine, it has a huge qulow-end antity to turn the turbo quickly. We use a low volume charging circuit so it fills quickly, making lag in this kit virtually non-existent. The turbo is simple; plain bearing and oil supply/cooling. This makes installation easier, lowers costs and is the most proven and forgiving bearing for off-road use. We actually had issues with the turbo spooling too fast, so ball bearings are not needed, and we have no heat issues as back pressure is low, water cooling is not therefore not necessary for the life of the bearing. Our turbo is assembled and balanced in the USA.
Tuning Levels: We will have more details, Bobcat 3400 utv parts soon, but we will have several tuning levels for octane from 91 to 93 (5 to 7 psi), 98-100 octane (9-11 psi), 1 octane10 (14-15 psi) and E85 (14-15 psi.
We are also developing race settings to run 18-20 psi boost. We achieved 411 rpm on our dyno at this pressure, or approximately 475 to 500 crank horsepower. However, running this high pressure/cylinder pressure will require additional testing to ensure all engine components, clutches, air intake and. ventilation can continue.
We strongly suggest our AA slip-on exhaust with this kit which is included. Our exhaust has 5" exhaust outlet (two 2.5" ports), which is extremely important for reducing back pressure during intense racing, Reduces the chance of engine knock stall delay and provides the highest power That being said, this kit should work with any free flow. . g style exhaust. It is designed to mate with our stock slip-on, so thatothers can also work. Keep in mind that there are clearance issues above the exhaust where the charge tube goes, an oil drain line coming in through the alternator and the charge tube uses the bracket driver side upper exhaust hanger.
Tuned via AA/HP Tuners RTD device. This requires your ECU to be sent to us (AA) for one-time unlocking, then the device can flash your ECU and change tunes at any time without needing to resend. This system allows you to receive tunes, updates, Fortress UTV parts and data log via a smartphone app. Although we have the option, a simple ECU flash will not be available for this kit, as data logging and tuning reviews can be a vital function to help resolve technical issues (should they arise) .
Boost is regulated vihas easy spring changes to avoid accidental boost situations that can occur with boost controllers. We will have more details on boost tuning as the kits are ready to ship as boost tuning is exclusive to this kit.
The Intercooler: Water cooling is better than air cooling! Our water-to-air intercooler configuration is industry leading because it has a small housing size, but cools the charge air extremely well. With increased air intake temperatures, shock protection (timing delay) will come into play, especially on fuel pump tunes. Our intercooler setup gives you the best chance of maintaining maximum power even during long pulls. This system also has minimal volume compared to an air-to-air configuration, whichmakes the reel much faster. The heat exchanger is filled with coolant which circulates to the intercooler via a pump, utv 801, and includes two fans. This requires wiring the low power pump/fans to either your pulse bar, UTV parts distributors or the battery.
Both the blow off valve and manifold are vented to the atmosphere in this kit and must be. Both are located quite high in the vehicle and still have a positive pressure position, so they can withstand the elements. If you're riding in deep mud, you can easily use a 1" hose and submerge these items wherever you want.
This kit slides under the OEM bed with just a little extra effort per compared to stock (tilt it to the right to remove/install).
Keep in mind the location of our heat exchanger, as it may interferer with accessories mounted on the rear of the cage. Also keep in mind that slight customization of our bottom heat exchanger bracket may be required. with aftermarket roll bars.
Boost Gauge: It is extremely important to check the correct boost numbers. You can purchase our optional dash-mount boost gauge to make things very simple, but it takes time. to go through. However, the RTD device included in this kit will allow you to record data logs and view the data with your smartphone or laptop so you can calculate the boost (or send it to us for review). Key on, engine off and looking at the absolute p of the manifold pressure which will be your atmospheric pressure. Remember this value (normally around 14 if sea level reaches 1,500 feet), then when operating the vehicle at plAt rpm, subtract this value from the current value of the manifold absolute pressure. For example, our pressure is 14 with the key off, and our manifold pressure at full throttle is 24. This means you are using 10 psi boost.
Air/Fuel Ratio Gauge :Our settings are configured. with air/fuel ratios that represent the perfect balance between engine power and safety. The settings are configured to allow the OEM ECU to compensate via correction factors for changes in altitude and temperature. However, having the optional AFR gauge helps ensure your air/fuel ratio is where it should be. The OEM narrowband sensor in the exhaust does not allow us to see air/fuel ratios, so an additional wideband module must be added to see this. This is a great help if troubleshooting is needed. This can be purchased later as anys exhausts comes with additional O2 sensor port/cap.
