DO NOT BREAK YOUR BELT. BREAK IT.
If you don't break the belt properly, you'll find yourself shredding the belt instead of the ground. In fact, the pMost powersports belt failures can be attributed to improper clutch break-in and adjustment – or no belt breakage at all. 1. Install the right belt. Using a belt, even if slightly different from the original specifications, can affect performance or stop you in your tracks.
2. Align and clean. Align the clutchesaccording to the manufacturer's specifications and clean the pulleys with a Scotch-Brite™ pad. Remove old belt residue, glazing, oils and debris with alcohol or acetone from the clutch pulley area. DO NOT USE BRAKE CLEANER.
3. Install it and insert it. Perform two heat cycles (10 to 15 minutes each) at 80°F at 30 to 40 mph (2WD) with the cover installed. Bring the belt temperature back to normal operating temperatures, Realtree 24V UTV Parts, UTV Gun Accessories, JC Whitney ATV/UTV Parts & Accessories, then turn off and allow to cool for 30 minutes. Repeat the process a second time. If the belt installation is at a temperature of 60°F or lower, perform two heating cycles in 20 minutes at 30-40 mph (2WD) with the cover installed. Return the belt temperature to normal operating temperatures, then shut it downa and let it cool for 30 minutes. Repeat the process a second time.
