We've been working with centrifugal clutches for over 40 years and know how to tune them to transfer your power to the ground. In most cases, optimizing the clutch configuration provides the greatest performance gain for the dollar spent. Through our testing, we found two distinctly different clutch configurations depending on the type of terrain you ride on.
SLP Trail Clutch Kit: These clutch kits are designed for trails semi-hard surface with occasional break-in. muddy or sandy conditions. They provide better engagement behavior, better throttle response with better phigh-rpm power and improved consistency over a wide range of altitudes and conditions.
SLP High Load Clutch Kit (Sand, Mud or Big Tire): These clutch kits are for high load environment such as sand, mud or when larger 1" to 2" tires have been added. When exposed to these high load conditions, the stock clutch malfunctions, leaving the vehicle with poor throttle response and loss of RPM. These clutch kits provide improved engagement mode, throttle response with better top-end power and better consistency over a wide range of altitudes and conditions. Sand Specific Clutch Kits: These sand specific clutch kits are specially designed to work on sand. The springs we use in these kits provide a much more responsive feel and power application under high load conditions on the dunes. . The propellers kits used are non-EBS versions, which reduce engine braking and allow the unit to coast when not pressed on the throttle. This helps keep the nose up when jumping, while still providing excellent acceleration and de-acceleration feel when playing on the dunes. These kits are highly resistant to loss of rpm, keeping the engine running at its maximum power level whether you're on the flat or climbing a steep dune.
